‘My’ couples (and with that I am of course referring to all amazing couples that choose me to photograph their wedding) are mostly quite down to earth and really enjoying their wedding day to the fullest. Nevertheless, I feel passionate about this subject and today, just wanted to tell you a little bit about what I think a wedding day is really about. It’s formed partly from my own experiences photographing, but also from the experiences from my couples.
Weddings usually take a lot of planning, maybe you do everything yourself, maybe you have a wedding planner or stylist, but anyway, there’s a lot of choices to be made: from locations to styling to the smallest of details. And don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love these things, I love weddings where everything is done with attention for detail. (And of course, I love to photograph all of these…) But today I just wanted to say: please try to let go on the wedding day itself, don’t stress if anything doesn’t go exactly according to plan, just enjoy and let things go their way. Because in the end, the things you’ll really remember and cherish are moments, they are the kind words of your family & friends and being surrounded by those you love.
The big day does not need to be about how much money you spend or how many guest you’ll have. In my opinion, you should focus on making the day perfect for you and the people you love most. So make sure you get to enjoy it to the fullest.
