A thank-you note to the wedding industry

Quitting law school was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Ever since our guidance counselor in high school told us that by choosing any school besides an university would be a waste of your time, knowledge and education (I am not kidding, he really did say this… and so did many other teachers and students at our school) I thought there were no ‘real’ options besides choosing a career in law, economics or any other academic career.
Boy was I wrong…

I am not saying there’s anything wrong with these kind of studies, or jobs, they’re just not for everyone. I tried my best to fit in for a while but never felt at home. A few years later, I am now exactly where I need to be. The wedding industry, in Holland but also internationally, is an amazing place to be working in if you ask me. The majority of the people I meet are só kind, talented and truly passionate about making sure couples have the most beautiful wedding day they can imagine. My fellow photographers are my colleagues instead of competition and I also made some awesome friends along the way.

So today, I just wanted to thank all of you in the wedding industry, for making me, and I am sure a lot of others, feel like they’re worthy, loved and allowed to be themselves. Words can not express how grateful I am to be a part of it.
