Photo journal of beautiful Monteverde Costa Rica

Monteverde Cloud forest in Costa Rica is the most special place. I visited this lush green cloud forest in 2006 as part of a roundtrip through the country, but in 2020 I came back to remote work there for a month. And since then, it has a special place in my heart.

Cloud forest makes up about 0,14% of the planet, so they are very rare, especially nowadays.  but they host a lot of unique plants an animals that can not live anywhere else. New species are still discovered as well. So to say that these are special places would be an understatement.

The town next to the forest: Santa Elena, is home to many coffee places, restaurants, backpackers and a few stores. It’s touristic, so I think it’s better to visit in low or shoulder season than high season, but the vibes are perfect. Here’s my photo journal of our month in Monteverde Costa Rica.
